An Old American Tradition Braided rugs have been around in America for a long time
We use long-lasting Spun Polyester/Nylon yarn for our braided rugs Pilgrim House braids are flat - not round - with two cores. We feel that these flat braids make better and longer-lasting rugs. Pilgrim House braids are made with quality spun Polyester/ Nylon carpet yarn. Since all rugs are individually made with much hand labor involved, size measurements may vary slightly from rug to rug. Get twice the wear out of your braided rug Pilgrim House braided rugs are reversible for longer wear - just flip them over once in a while and you will enjoy your rugs much longer. You will also get a longer life out of your rug if you use padding under it; we suggest it strongly because the padding will also provide comfort and safety and will prevent possible color transfer to other underlying carpets, vinyl or hardwood floors with an affinity to dyes. Cleaning your braided rugs Pilgrim house braided rugs are washable. Smaller items are machine washable in cold water, gentle cycle. Do not put in dryer, but lay flat to dry. Larger items ( and small items too) can be hand washed, spot cleaned or professionally cleaned, and vacuumed. Color, sizes and prices We offer over 80 different solid colors and color combinations, in assorted styles. We have standard sizes for area rugs ranging from 2' X 3' oval, or 3' round, to 9' X 12' oval, or 12' round, and we go up to 12' on custom-made sizes. Our price list mentions the prices for all our standard rug sizes and the per - square foot price for custom designed rugs. To ensure that your colors match the color scheme in your room, our sample program lets you try out your selected color combination in your house before you place your order. Braided rugs are a traditional and typical American product. Originally, strips of surplus or out- of-service cloth were hand braided and then sewn together. This was an inexpensive method for farmers and city folks to cover their wooden floors, and a good occupation for slack winter times. In the U.S. such braided rugs have been made for over 200 years. Over the years, the rugs have become more sophisticated, being made from cotton, wool, and later synthetic yarn, in many distinctive colors, often designer-selected.
